one of the ways I judge a little feat show is by the dixie chicken and this one is one of the best I have heard. Bill Payne can certainly tickle the ole ivories...

this show is exceptional little feat to say the very least. I had it for a long time and somehow purged it while cleaning but it will not be lost again.

The reviews compare it favorably to waiting for columbus, which is high praise indeed. Though I just read where waiting for columbus had some major work done in the studio prior to release, so the question might be open.

(plus it is dr flasback approved...sorry, I needed that laugh in ref to another thread.)

Regarding Zappa and George: Even though George always told the willin' story about his release from the Mothers, I heard Zappa say in some interview that he just didn't think he should be playing in someone else's band so he fired him to push to start his own. Though he did have reservations about willin' as well.
